11 + Foundation

The Complete 11+ Foundation Classes covers year 5 work - but nine months early. It’s open to children in years 4 and 5 who are applying for entry to a selective school. In addition, to maths and English, the course includes verbal and non verbal reasoning. As with the Complete 11+ Preparation Courses all the questions and exercises are Swot Shop originals and cannot be found in any other papers. The Swot Shop 11+ Foundation course challenges children differently and really sharpens their maths and English skills as well as introduces them to verbal and non-verbal reasoning. These dynamic classes give year 4 children a head start in their 11+ tests. Taught in a safe, nurturing but competitive environment, children gain an understanding of the standard expected of them and are encouraged to improve their skills leading up to the Swot Shop 11+ preparation classes and, of course, the exam itself.

Course Content

• Maths topics include all important subject areas for year 4 and year 5 including money calculations and real life problems.
• English work topics selected to promote improvement in creative writing and comprehension including technical language knowledge and the development of different writing techniques.
• The principles of Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning with question sets selected to introduce pupils to the subject.
