Who we are

Swot Shop has provided tuition and educational support to families with 5-12 year old children for 15 years.

Gary Rhodes, a qualified primary school teacher, started the business in order to sell books and provide tuition for primary school children.

Uniquely, Swot Shop uses only qualified primary teachers for its tuition service and this has brought the service out of the back street to a high street presence with a degree of transparency and legitimacy.

Swot Shop has two main services:

1. Delivering group tuition in maths, English and reading to over 330 children every week. Each year, specialist courses are run for entry to selective schools, success in National Curriculum Tests, and Creative Writing. Swot Shop uses its own work schemes and produces its own monthly writing programme for its pupils. All in-house courses and materials are piloted and tested within the tuition groups.
2. An exclusive resource centre for tuition customers selling a specially selected and constantly reviewed range of books, resources and materials to help 5-12 year olds master the basics in maths and English.

A close relationship with parents and children, combined with a deep understanding of the UK education system, means Swot Shop is uniquely placed to offer a tuition service that supports and complements the National Curriculum.
